Canon 5D Mark II DSLR? “Present.”
Canon 1D Mark IV DSLR? “Got it.”
Memory Cards? “Check.”
And so it went down a list of twenty-some items that we’d hauled to Casino du Lac- Leamy for our shoot at Ottawa Tattoo Expo 2010.
Juiced Link mixer and adapter? “Check and check.”
We’d been invited to the show by Glen Paradis, an Ottawa tattoo artist and the subject of my very short doc.
White Balance? “Done.”
We spent the next couple of hours shooting the show.
Master shot? “Yep.”
Actuality? “And how.”
We convinced Prof. Chumley, a.k.a. the Human Pin Cushion, to perform some tricks on camera. (Among the feats mentioned in his online bio: fire eating, bed of nails, glass walking … “plus a few unique torture acts you would need to see to believe.”)
It went down better than we could ever have anticipated. Not even November, we were way ahead of production.
Sound check … anyone?
