The School of Media and Design's new Documentary Production Program is a finishing school
that prepares storytellers and players for the business of documentary
and non-fiction media production and distribution.
Documentary Production is a one year post-diploma certificate program offered by Algonquin College in Ottawa, Canada. The program gives students a solid grounding in all aspects of documentary production from script to screen - two intense semesters of hands-on filmmaking and bridge building to the non-fiction production industry.
Students learn and apply principles and practices of traditional documentary production as well as the disciplines of interactive web documentary creation.
Applicants need only bring a passion for storytelling, the program provides production resources and a team of documentary professionals who guide emerging documentary makers through the process of bringing their stories to the screen.
